On Feb. 9, 1964, The Beatles were on The Ed Sullivan Show. Just about everyone over 50 can remember their first time of seeing them. But.... it wasnt the first time The Beatles could be seen performing on American television. On Jan. 3, 1964, 5 weeks before their Sullivan appearance, a tape of The Beatles was played on The Jack Paar Show. The Beatles were taped on Nov. 16, 1963 in England and Jack Paar played it. Here is a video of Jack Paar talking about it along with part of the performance. 51 years ago today.
