On February I watched the movie 12 Years a Slave. This movie is based upon Solomon Northup’s book of the same titled 12 Years A slave. A book about his pre-civil war kidnapping of as a free Negro, being sold into slavery, and finally being freed and returning to the North. It is a well acted movie, demonstrating the horror of being Black in America. The movie shows the grotesque abuse of power of the slave masters under capitalism slaveocracy and the differences of the Negros that lived in the master’s house and those that workers on the land.
