On Friday, September 12, the English Department will welcome visiting speaker Michael Bérubé. 3 p.m. College Hall 105 Michael Bérubé, Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of Literature at Pennsylvania State University and former president of the Modern Language Association, will speak on Disability as Motive on Friday, Sept. 12, at 3pm in College Hall 105 on the Duquesne University campus. Admission is free. A noted public intellectual, Bérubé has written extensively on the place of liberal education in American society, on cultural studies, and on disability. Among his books are Life as We Know It: A Father, A Family, and An Exceptional Child and Whats Liberal about the Liberal Arts? Classroom Politics and Bias in Higher Education.
