On Friday night over 150 Guard, Reserve, and Veteran s children - TopicsExpress

On Friday night over 150 Guard, Reserve, and Veteran s children had a meeting with Santa Claus here at JFTB. There was food, movies, Christmas carols, and most of all toys for all of the children in attendance. Every child left with many toys thanks to the Marines, the Toys for Tots Program, Leisure World groups, and other generous donators. Also Dollar Tree continued their support of this event. Its sad to think that this may be the only Christmas some of these children get, but because of the efforts of Cara Borm, Connie Mesta, VSC Volunteers, and a lot of military and local supporters it was a great night for all of those involved. The American Legion Riders escorted Santa with 9 motorcycles and a big 4X4 truck so that Santa could make it through the wintery conditions here in Southern CA. Also over the past few weeks over 100 families have received food baskets, turkeys, hams, and gift cards for food because of the generosity of local agencies and charities. This community cares about our Guard/Reservists and Veterans! The SECFOR leadership and patrol officers were very supportive--as well as Councilman Grose and the Los Alamitos Police Department. This was truly a team effort and a very special night for Guard, Reserve, and Veterans Children. Thanks for all you do and for your support of JFTB Los Alamitos.
