On July 12, 2011, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. I was in shock when I learned that it was an incurable cancer of my bone marrow. Information I obtained told me that the life expectancy for someone with Stage 2 myeloma was 44 months. In December, 2011 I opted for treatment with an autologous stem cell transplant at Mayo Clinic. 36 months later, I am still in complete remission (perfect check up today!!) and feel great! I also have enough stem cells banked for another transplant, should I need one. Thank you soooo much to all of the Mayo Clinic Transplant Team, Dr. Gerardo Colon-Otero, my wonderful daughter Danielle Kelie, my steadfast hubby Frankie, all my friends who supported and still support me, and last but not least to GOD for bringing me through this!
