On Monday, 9/15/2014, in collaboration with Charlotte County and the the Florida Dept of Health, National Church Residences at Grove City Manor was officially recognized for being the first housing facility of any type in Charlotte County, FL to implement a completely Smoke Free Community policy. Speakers included Charlotte County Commissioner Bill Truex, FL Dept of Health Director Dr. Henry Kurban, and Author/American Lung Assoc member Thomas E. Cappellio. Grove City Manor was congratulated on its achievement and initiative. Mr. Cappellio shared some startling statistics and some of his survival story with Residents, staff and upper management. Kathleen Gray of FL Dept of Health and Commissioner Truex unveiled gifted Smoke free Campus signage from the Dept of Health. Residents responding to our surveys indicated that they are well on their way to complete cigarette cessation. Way to Go!
