On November 15, 1997, Jan-Care Paramedic Kevin Ritchie responded on his last motor vehicle accident, on the Meadow River Bridge on US-19 at the Nicholas/Fayette County Line. Within a few seconds, additional accidents would occur on the ice covered bridge, sending on-scene responders scattering for safety. Paramedic Kevin Ritchie was later recovered 300 feet below the bridge. On this day of remembrance, we honor the life of Kevin, and send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
