On Saturday 19th July Douglas Carnival will be making its spectacular return to the capital after more than 15 years’ absence. Plans are afoot to showcase the best of the Isle of Man in a day packed with family entertainment, live music and attractions all along Douglas Promenade. 2pm To get the carnival spirit going, the walkway of Loch Promenade will come alive with our family fun day hosting the best in family entertainment, including live music and dance performances from the finest local talent. There will also be a host of attractions including rides, bouncy castles and stalls as well as food outlets offering cuisine to excite your taste buds! 6.30pm In the early evening throngs of floats, bands, dance groups, decorated vehicles, along with many other participants and performers, will be bringing the sights and sounds of the carnival to town as they take part in a parade from the north end of Queens Promenade to the end of Loch Promenade. 7.30pm As the sun goes down on the early evening activities, Douglas Promenade will be bouncing to the sounds of local musicians as the after party at the Bottleneck Car Park takes us late into the night. If the day time is for the family then the after party is definitely for the grown-ups. WARNING: FAST AND DANGEROUS ACTIVITY ALERT Announcing the Isle of Man’s first Promenade Wheelie Bin Drag Race.
