On Saturday, I went to see "Glee Club" at opening of Cast, the new Theatre / Performance Venue in Doncaster. Have to say, I thought it was gonna be some wanky pretentious performance without any substance around the American TV Show. Ohh was I wrong. It was about working Miners from South Yorkshire that kept the lights on for the rest of Britain and their trials and tribulations of daily life. The show is 20 years old and has been all over the country, the play write was there. The actors were superb and was pleased to buy one of the lead actors a pint of Cider at the bar after. Acts were down to earth, funny and above all played very well. A great show and as a visiting southerner, born in the north was great to see local history played out on stage in what was all together awesome. I laughed all the way through. Seriously recommend it to anyone interested in history, culture or the hilarity of men that can sing and dance. All together brilliantly done.
