On Sunday, November 1, I was given a merit award by the Ansar ud Deen Society of Nigeria, Ikorodu branch. This is what the Society wrote without my knowledge as an intro. Here it is- Mr. Chairman, members of the high table, distinguished guests, brothers and sisters in Islam, the next awardee is an Attorney, a matured politician, a solitary, but dogged fighter, a subtle, but trenchant speaker, in spite of all malignant attitude against him when he represented his people at the Lagos State House of Assembly, even when he was betrayed by his own kinsman, he was unruffled, he held his head above water. His laconic words and matured manner of presentation singled him out as embodiment of truth. I was highly humbled.
