On Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at approximately 5:15am, officers from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of South Main Street in the Village of Kimberly for a damage to property complaint. Upon arrival, officers found five homes and six vehicles in the alley between Main Street and Sidney Street that were damaged with blue spray paint. At the same time, officers from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department responded to the 100 block of South Main Street in the Village of Kimberly for an auto theft complaint. The vehicle, a dark-colored 1999 Saturn SL2, was later recovered in the Fox River near the boat launch at Sunset Park in the Village of Kimberly. Additionally, the suspect(s) in the auto theft used the vehicle to cause damage to the softball field at Sunset Park, including two fences and turf. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys in the ignition at the time of the theft. Based off damage done to the homes and vehicles, as well as the stolen vehicle, investigators believe these cases are related. In total, it is believed that several thousands of dollars in damage was done to property owned by residents and the Village of Kimberly. At this point the incident is under investigation. We are looking for help from the public to identify potential suspects and any additional victims. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Fox Valley Metro Police Department at 920-788-7505, Attention: Officer Michael Grumann.
