On Wednesday, you may have been checked out by Congressman Bishop - TopicsExpress

On Wednesday, you may have been checked out by Congressman Bishop at a convenience store located in Pleasant Grove as part of a campaign by the National Association of Convenience Stores, to show how Americans rely on convenience stores. Fair point, but shouldnt we also show how Utahns rely on the (often) below minimum wage workers who are the backbone of our retail economy? Once again, Bishop advocates for the industry and not the citizen. This should come as no surprise as almost all of Congressman Bishops campaign donations come from lobbyists and private interests. Its time for leadership and representation that will actually represent the citizens of Utah. It is possible to be pro-business and represent the interests of Utahn citizens. Isnt that the very nature of free-market American Democracy? Our working families have had scant representation in Congress for too long. My background in business and my commitment to transparent governance with integrity - a lesson I learned at West Point - is that we are all on the same team, working together for the same objectives. True leadership leaves NO ONE behind. Not Left. Not Right, Forward!
