On a Cold Day in New Y .back in the 60s i left my job .after working for a Nut in Smith town .Working for an Ex Boxer .turned hair Cutter...So I went out to see the World ! it was snowing very heavy and i needed to get out of town !and visit far away places .as the war Action as the Government put it was escalating,So i thought of going to Italy! to restore Art Work ,that were ruined in the Florentine Floods in 1986,or maybe go back to Austria and visit my new Founds friends .as I was on a waiting list for the Military Service!!! Well it was clear ,i would go to that little Dutch town ,We know and love Brooklyn!!!Who knew ,,certainly not me .Plus i got tired of working for someone ,that called everyone MommyThe next day overnight bag in hand and a new York hero sandwich ,I head out on my Adventure,Not saying anything to my parents ! after(2) two hours of Battling a Storm,all covered in that ,White stuff ,i started Hitch Hiking !just toget on the Long island expressway! i came across! I a car, that was not running ,with the driver reading a news paper !! he was waiting for the flooded engine to dry up a bit ,before he attempted to drive it again !! I asked if i could get in he said flat out No! i said Dont be afraid ,plus i have a Italian,hero sandwich ! he started Laughing and Said,I am Jewish ,But Alright kid get in ! a few Minutes later and a couple of Strong Bits from the Sandwich ! We were on my way .he said ,where u heading i said Brooklyn ,he said ,Why ?go to California it warm,,, he had always wanted to go but never had the opportunity!! Go West Young man go West got out of his car in Queens ,close to Kennedy (JFK) Airport for the non New Yorkers reading this !! any my next ride was A Pilot for TWA..O.k. Now Iam @ the terminal ..Gods Will.Ah What the Hell !Louis Ammirato after all I was on the phone with him yesterday !! Ill go there ! got to ohare Airport ..More Snow ..off white ,not yellow like in new York!! call his cousin,he said who is this ..I Albert his friend from Commack!! O well he is @ Work Ill tell him u called..Nice So ..The Voice came back from the Guy in the 1st Car..Plus My frind Junior (Vinny D ) was out there and a Girl Sharon Knappe ! Went back to the counter to buy an other ticket as i had this Youth pass!! i was 18 by the way!! asked for a ticket for California,the rep @ said .L.A. or San Francisco..i said What ,there r two Californias? Really did not know! hoe far apart they where .Know I dod .and I was right! There r two ,well thats an other story .will Spare you ! to be continued Maybe !it gets better !!Things i was exposed to on that Journey West one was my 1st Toco of which, I broke in my hand almost Immediately !
