On a very frigid day the Ulysses FFA horse judgers heated up the barn at the Garden City Bronc Buster Horse Palace Barn in a tightly contested battle with Elkhart for district horse judging honors. A total of ten schools were represented in the Sr. division. In the Sr division Elkhart was first, Ulysses a close second, and Hodgeman county a distant third. Ulysses was very well represented with Baliegh Munsell 3rd high individual just 5 points out of first, Braden Deyoe was just 2 points behind her for 4th, Jessica Hanson was 8th, and Cori Meyer was 11th. Also competing in the Sr. Division were Brooke Hickok, Zack Walters, Sarah Smith, Javin Keaton, Hunter Martinez, Maddy Flaherty, and Cayden Longfellow. Cimarron took the Jr. Division title edging past Elkhart and Ulysses. In the Jr. Division the team of Hannah Saxon, Marcus Broiller, Tyler Hook, and Mikeala Malone of Ulysses finished third. Individually Hannah was eighth and Marcus was 11th. FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
