On behalf of the Berry family, I regret to tell everyone that Steven lost his battle against lung rejection this morning. He fought for his life for over 64 days while on the ventilator, and it seemed as if the entire CVICU nursing staff were shaken by his passing. Always courageous, and always determined Steven fought to the end. I am very proud of him. Lindie Berry by his side all night, but the toll that the ventilator took over the last 2 months was more than Steven could over come. We will finalize Stevens funeral arrangements tomorrow afternoon but they will be at Bailey and Foster in Palestine and he will be interned at Roseland cemetery near his grandparents that babysat him as a child. I want thank everyone of the 800 Prayer Warriors online and the hundreds more not on FB. I also want to thank the Nursing staff on the CVICU floor at UT Southwestern. They are the greatest group of gifted tramua and transplant nurses assembled in the country, and of course Jo Hoffman the Nursing floor coordinator. Whom I have cried a river of tears on her shoulder. I may not answer my phone but feel free to text or inbox me, thanks again. Prayers up!
