On fri evening Brooklyn realizes that we missed the lego build at the library. Of course hes disappointed but I explain to him that no matter what we did we wouldnt have made it bc we were breaking down the book fair at his school and packing it up. I was lucky enough to have 1 other person helping me, and resetting the library back to normal again. I explained to him that maybe if OTHER parents actually stepped up and helped out sometimes he wouldnt miss out on these things. Today he started complaining, why is it always U? Why do U ALWAYS hafta do the shopping and the cooking and making brownies and ALWAYS doing stuff for other people???Youre like their maid... Like a slave!!! WHY? Why doesnt someone else do it? Bc bud, usually there is no one else thats willing to sacrifice and also, people ask me to. So I do it. Is it always fun? No. Am I always happy in the long run that I do, do it? Yes. feeling guilty afterwards, i only make the 3 out of 5 batches of brownies i needed to and didnt start my sauce. InsteAd we read one of his chapter books together in its entirety. If it isnt carrie downie, its del state pta, if its not that its cub scouts, when its not that its golf. What he doesnt realize is what do all these things have in common? ........him. I do all these things for him.
