On her husband’s watch, Margurite Pindling bore witness to this Bahamas being raked over the international community’s coals of integrity and questionability during the notorious Pindgom. Moreover, she herself displayed the same callousness when she evaded her taxes to the state to the sum of over $300,000.00 as was recently discovered – the same state to which she now heads! …the hallmark of the PLP has historically been to encourage and coddle criminality and scandal, and so it is no surprise that this woman has become the head of state by a morally feeble leader. Considering the approval from the Crown in London (and more than ever) it has become apparent to me that Queen Elizabeth and her colonial trappings have been vetted and found wanting as the 1984 Commission of Inquiry revealed the then Prime Minister Pindling spent over 10x’s his salary to date and at that time. What is equally disturbing is that many poor Bahamians – the ones who live from pay to pay or none at all, support this disgraceful legacy with such fervor and tribalism. They seemingly want to deify the legacy of shame and victimization. They celebrate the same corrupt system that entraps and disempowers them. PLPs: This is more than a fashion show and ceremony …this is more than a stroke of powerful appointment, this is a question of morality and national interest. We continue to erode internally - we continue NOT to rise. …I suppose the concessions will continue at my expense for the Pindling lot, but certainly time is longer than rope …again, what a disgrace – every Bahamian should hang their heads in shame! This country has done well to have had Sir Arthur Alexander Foulkes serve as Governor General …he personifies statesmanship and lady Folkes, the epitome of class and grace.
