On my break at work today I watched as people outside ran from the shade, trying to find any ground with sun shining down upon it. I found myself thinking how funny we as people are. During the summer we complain and cry about how hot it is and we pray for cooler days. We can be seen seeking the shade of the big trees, the comfort and the coldness of the ac. We hide from the sun when it gets to hot, when its uncomfortable. But during the winter, we are scrambling to find some sun. We beg for some warmth for our freezing bones. We run to the sun like it will not be there tomorrow. The sunlight seems to fade faster in the winter and we feel we cannot get enough of it. We crave it. I was thinking this is similar to some Christians. Sometimes when this life gets to hot we hide from the Son, or we run because it is to uncomfortable to stand there in the heat. But when things are bitter and cold we find ourselves searching for the Son trying to find every little bit we can. Trying to remember what if feels like to be warm again. We need to remember that no matter what the season we should be searching for the Son and basking in the warmth of His outstretched arms. Soaking up every bit of light we can get, till we feel like it is pouring out of us. Ive always loved the sun. I love the way it warms my skin, giving me the goosebumps. The sun has a way of making my day wonderful. I love the way everything looks in the light, so clear and vibrant. Everything is more ALIVE. and will continue to search for the warmth of the Son every season of this crazy beautiful life.
