We went to the Winnipeg Railway Museum today (in Union Station on Main). What a trip! 1. It is huge and has full rail cars and other machinery 2. It is *very* DIY and shabby and friendly. 3. It is very quirky and comprised of the interests and collections of retired workers and others, and whatever was donated. Amazing photos, huge old switching machines, a caboose to climb into and more. 4. If you read b/t the colonial lines there is some fascinating info to figure out about Indigenous peoples and womens interactions with the rail system and settlers.
