On my way home from work today. I passed a homeless woman whom I am familiar with and kept on riding my bike past her. I was about a half of a mile away from her and verry tired.. when I turned around. She got up to speak to me from where she was sitting and knew I was coming back to talk with her. I have given her food once before but this time was different. I gave her two granola bars, some cheese dip sticks, a few packs of gum, and the half of my water I had left. She was so greatful it made me cry. As I was riding away I remembered a post I read the other day that said for everyone to mind their own buisness and their lives will be easier. I feel the exact opposite. Yes it made me cry a little but I feel I have gained more than she did. I have been struggling with a few things lately but feel that no matter how I feel.. someone somewhere else would love to have what I have just for one day.
