On one hand, this persons suggestion of putting term limits on members of congress and members of the senate is a great idea. I believe the ability for a person to be in their seat their entire life is part of the reason we have the political class that is so disconnected from the rest of the country. However, getting rid of the mid-terms is not the answer to a politicians effectiveness, and it would not take care of a politicians constant campaigning. Politicians campaign as often as they do because the voting class no longer takes an active role in being politically informed. If you want to see less campaigning from your representatives - democrat or republican - take a more active and informed role in your local and state government.
