On our drive back from church yesterday, I asked the girls what they fancied for dinner. My baby was the first to respond. To our surprise, “anything but McDonalds” she said. She said she was giving up fast food for the lent session. That really pleased my soul, and my wallet. Being that the lent period lasts for 40 days, I assumed I would be saving a bit of money. But then she was quick to correct my ignorance. Apparently, Sundays are exempt from whatever you are giving up during lent. So according to my little Einstein, once you decide to give up on anything for any reason, there’s an allowance to sway – just a little bit. But thankfully, you and I, and even my little girl know that in order to achieve whatever we’ve determined to achieve, swaying isn’t an option. We stick to the plan don’t we? I mean if for instance you’ve resolved in your heart to be at the office early everyday, you wouldn’t give yourself a break on Tuesdays would you? The same principle applies to other areas of your life doesn’t it? Enjoy your weekend, and the week ahead.
