On the 36th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, I found - TopicsExpress

On the 36th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, I found myself very impressed on how he transcended music. I heard the age old argument that Elvis copied his style from black blues singers, so did most white rock and roll singers. But I cannot deny the fact that Elvis was talented and had a great singing voice. Nearly everyone famous seems to have been an Elvis fan at one point from Eddie Murphy to Chris Tucker to Nicolas Cage to James Brown, and even former President Bill Clinton. Elvis was to rock and roll music in the 1950s to what Jimi Hendrix was to rock music in the 1960s.
