On the 5th of July 2013, this huge section of the scaffolding fell - TopicsExpress

On the 5th of July 2013, this huge section of the scaffolding fell onto the playing field at 4pm at Garden International School. This was shortly after the Primary kids had their sports day. This would have been catastrophic if it happened a few hours earlier. No newspaper wanted to run this article. A couple of days ago, a large chunk of rock from the ongoing construction work fell onto the swimming pool. A child, or several children, could have easily been killed. Two major accidents, potentially fatal, in a space of a few months. For me, it is unacceptable. Safety should come before all else. Children should not go to school in a construction site. The dust level was really unbearable at one point. As no parent wants to take action (for the fear that their children will be prejudiced against) and no newspaper want to run the story (because the school is a big advertiser), life here goes on on its unsafe path. As a safety measure, I am withdrawing my child from swimming this term, but where/when will the next accident be? Please do share, to raise awareness, because who knows, we might get enough parents from the school standing up to say as one voice, Keep our children safe.
