On the eve of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz - TopicsExpress

On the eve of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz I felt it very appropriate to remember the Polish War Hero Witold Pilecki. His efforts with regards the resistance movement within the German concentration camp during WW11 remain largely unknown to the West. Fighting for Poland and in turn for Great Britain and the West - Poland being third largest ally after USA and UK throughout WWII it is surely high time that the efforts of the Polish resistance movement in the camp be remembered and also let this be an appropriate chance for memorial and the ability for us to pay respect with regards the 150 000 Polish Intelligentsia who were murdered there and whose stories remain largely forgotten in Western history books. When Poland fell under Totalitarian Communist rule at the end of WWII, on 25 May 1948, Pilecki was executed by the Communist Government in Poland at the Warsaw Mokotów Prison for his alliance with regards fighting for the Allies and the West. Rest In Peace and may the memory of Witold Pilecki live on for all of us to remember how such a brave and courageous soul died for Your Freedom and Ours . Respect. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witold_Pilecki
