On the morning of August 6th, 1945, an American B-29 bomber carrying the worlds first offensive nuclear bomb flew over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Meanwhile, a Japanese girl was returning from her grandparents inland home. At 08:15 (JST) the weapon was detonated 600m above the city. The girl was temporarily blinded by a sudden flash of light, and recovered to witness a massive cloud begin to form over the city, where her family was only 300 meters from the hypocenter of the blast. Ignoring her grandparents warnings and avoiding military blockade, she ran into the smoldering ruin of her town to find what remained of her family.
