On this day 28 years ago, I landed on American soil. By being adopted, I gained the best family and friends many orphans could only dream of! Although very sick, my parents literally rescued me from the impoverished and lonely life I had and welcomed me to this beautiful country and I am forever grateful to them for not only saving my life, but for sticking by my side thru all of the ups and downs in my life. Ill continue to struggle, but these struggles make me into who I am today and their love has never ceased to exist nor has it ceased to amaze me. Their love and all the love I received from family and friends will never be taken for granted! Although I cant really recall my arrival into Cleveland Hopkins airport, on this day, I always remember me riding in the 80s something suburban when I was 6 or 7 with Mama and Papa Loos and Mama and Papa LaGrotteria to the courthouse in Cleveland where I received a little American flag held up by a little wooden block and became an American. Honduras will always be in my heart, but Im a very grateful and proud American and blessed to have been given a spot in the Loos family. 28 years later and this day never loses its significance!
