On this day November 22nd, 2010 - WWE Raw: Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton (c) for the WWE Championship. Nexus made quite a strong impression in the WWE. Led by Wade Barrett, the faction of NXT season 1 stars beat down CM Punk and John Cena on their WWE Raw debut, and trashed the ring and ringside area. Cena would be their main target over the next few months, leading to a match between Barrett and Cena. Should Cena win, Nexus disbanded, but if Wade won, Cena joined Nexus. Thanks to Husky Harris and Michael McGillicutty running interference that night, Barrett won, and Cena was no longer against Nexus. This gave the British star an idea to help him capture WWEs biggest prize... With a battle royal set to determine the next #1 contender to face Randy Orton, Barrett felt he had a huge advantage, thanks to the number of Nexus stars involved that could help, and instructing Cena to help too, or he was fired. After saving Barrett from elimination, it came down to Cena and the Nexus leader, with Cena eliminating himself under orders. Barrett tried the same trick again at Bragging Rights in his title match with Orton. The match would end with a Wade win, but by DQ after Cena struck him. While Barrett didnt win, Cena kept his job due to a technicality, as he did help Wade win the match. The anonymous GM would grant Barrett another chance, and to keep order, a special guest referee would be put in place, chosen by the winner of Orton vs a member of Nexus. Cena would be put in that match, and he would win by DQ after Wade attacked him, before making Cena the ref for the title bout. While Cena wasnt happy, Barrett stated if Cena helped him win the title, he could leave Nexus. Help Orton, and he was fired. With the rest of Nexus banned from the Survivor Series bout, Barrett thought he had the match won after hitting Wasteland, but Orton grabbed the ropes. Barrett confronted Cena, who pushed the brawler away and into an RKO, where Cena reluctantly counted 3. 24 hours later on the November 22nd, 2010 episode of WWE Raw from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, Wade Barrett was given 1 more shot at Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, this time with a neutral referee. Here, in full is that title match...as well as the surprise moment that saw another impromptu title match take place.... youtube/watch?v=ZMftGoQGcs8 #WWE #Raw #TheMiz #RandyOrton #WadeBarrett
