On this day, in 1924, a young woman was born, with a twin sister by the name of Mary. This girl grew into a woman while facing many trials; the transitions of her twin, her parents at a young age, a marriage and divorce at a young age, and the birth of a child. She faced adversity head on, becoming more fearless with time. She was tough as nails, yet nurturing and wise. Some of us called her Grandma, some Nana, some even called her Boo, and dare I say, Sarge (this one behind her back of course...lol). Some knew her as Miss James (Mi James)... Martha Juanita James Smith was all of that and then some... Happy 90th, and 3rd in Heaven...we forever keep you in our hearts...
