On this day in 1948: Judy was busy on the MGM recording stage, pre-recording Merry Christmas, Meet me Tonight In Dreamland, Put Your Arms Around Me Honey, and Last Night When We Were Young for her upcoming film In The Good Old Summertime. All were completed in three takes or less. Last Night When We Were Young was filmed but deleted from the final release version. The footage survives, giving us another example of Judys aural and visual power with a great song such as this. In fact, the song was one of her favorites and on March 31, 1956 she recorded a studio version of it for her Capitol Records album Judy.
