On this day in 2001 I frantically looked for 2 great friends, William J. Mackey and Larry Ross, both working in NYC. I can still feel the wrenching pain in my stomach looking for their safety, the horrors evolve on TV, the bewilderment on my employees faces. I left work that morning, sending everyone else home to their families, and picked up my children in wearing 3 piece grey pinstripe suit at the elementary school, at first staff giving me a hard time, but I made my intent clear- they were coming with me.. that school is now gone.....its been that long. Not a plane in the sky that day, or days...creepy. Water, duct tape, plastic tarps seemed to be the protection plan everyone was talking about in my area....confused the hell out of me. For days, I cried for my children, my friends, this unnecessary loss of life in such a barbaric way. Sad, but I am glad my mother passed away and was not here to see any of this. Life as I knew it not only was sucked from my soul, but changed permanently forever, for everyone. This was no conspiracy,this was a plan from satan handed to his children, executed against innocent men, women, children, elderly, and the disabled. An atrocity. Regardless of your political affiliation, personal or religious beliefs, the blame is not on the Jews, or the Christians, or the way of the western world... the blame rests on extremists, not the religion, of which those of that religious sect need to stand up against their own who do wrong. I have against mine, based in its wrong doing. Its the right thing to do. I hope, after listening to our Presidents address last evening (no ugly comments please) that after 13 years we find a unified and unrelenting resolve to completely eliminate, terminate, and exterminate the enemy of terror, regardless of rules of engagement, so the world can begin to heal and learn the same lessons we did in 1945. We can no longer allow these barbaric animals rule by fear, oppression, and death. God bless America, may her freedom ring around the world and be a beacon of hope for all. Please never forget.
