On this day, we honour the ultimate sacrifice of the tens of thousands of Canadians who fought bravely in many conflicts over the years. Let’s pay homage to their remarkable courage and commitment. They are responsible for the freedom that we enjoy today, and we continue to count on them to defend us and ensure the safety of our country. The tragic events of the last few weeks have reminded us just how great their sacrifices are, and how valuable their services. I invite you to join your fellow citizens today to honour the memory of our brave soldiers and to offer a message of encouragement to those who continue to fight for a more peaceful world. Lest we forget.
