On to today’s meetings….. Plenty of low grade Class 5 and Class 6 handicaps today with the Newcastle 15.00 the best class handicap of the day, Class 2 1mile event. HI THERE gets the vote as his latest effort is best forgiven and he looks worth another chance. He´s more progressive than some of these well exposed handicapper’s and gets the verdict over the lightly raced Luca Cumani entrant, Validus. In the 17.00 at Newcastle…SAN CASSIANO made all for a comfortable victory at Ripon last week. Ruth Carr’s charge can strike again while the iron is hot and defy a penalty against lesser opposition. He is attempting to record two quickfire handicap wins for the third time in the last four summers. Viva Colonia was useful over jumps last season, so maybe worth an EW option. Over to Yarmouth….and in the 16.20….ORBIT THE MOON (nap) came right back to his best at Redcar last Saturday while wearing the headgear when beaten by only half-a-length in a much stronger event than this. Last years race winner Comrade Bond has every chance and is only a pound higher than when scoring over track and trip last summer. Finally to the evening meeting at Yarmouth and in the 19.40 1m2f event…Luca Cumani’s, MANKINI is the obvious stand out selection. A year off the track and a step up in distance proved no problem for him at Newmarket earlier this month……just a 4lb rise means a follow-up looks likely as he’s a lot less exposed than the majority of today’s rivals.
