Once again I come with bad news. Douglas Edward Arvedson - TopicsExpress

Once again I come with bad news. Douglas Edward Arvedson Obituary Douglas Edward (Doug) Arvedson died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 59 years of age. Doug was born December 12, 1954 in San Angelo, Texas. His parents were Richard Eugene Arvedson and Rosanna Lee Luby Arvedson, who preceded him in death. He finished high school in San Angelo at Central High School. Doug was a writer by nature and profession. He loved to interview people and learn about them, their lives, and their hopes. Then, with the gift of words he was given, he put that down in such a way that everyone enjoyed reading his stories. He worked for The San Angelo Standard-Times as a human interest journalist. This was his first love. He also worked at Pierce-Western Oil as an administrative assistant to the president. And, he was employed at KLST TV as a chyron operator, creating the digital images superimposed over the lower portion of broadcast television images (commonly known as the trailer under the picture). Doug was married to Linda Faith. Together, they had two beautiful children, Jonathan Douglas Arvedson and Amy Faith Arvedson Anderson. Jon lives in Houston, and Amy and her husband, Jeff, along with Doug’s grandson, Wyatt Levi Anderson, live in California. Linda preceded Doug in death in 1995. Doug married Casey Harker-Arvedson, and they had some great years together. Casey survives him. Others left behind to remember Doug are his sister, Sharalee (Shari) Arvedson Pierce and her husband, Milton Ray Pierce of San Angelo; his brother Richard Stephen (Steve) Arvedson and his wife, Marsha Multer Arvedson of Clear Lake City, Texas; his mother-in-law, Marilyn Harker of Nebraska; and his Aunt Jane Luby Cumbie and her husband, Edward, of Bronte, Texas. The cousins who will miss Doug dearly are too numerous to mention here. They will cherish his unique perspective and boisterous laugh, but continue to keep him alive in fond memories of childhood adventures. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank the physicians and nurses on the second floor of Community Hospital in San Angelo for their loving care of Doug as he prepared to leave this world. We also want to express our deep appreciation to the angels of Hospice of San Angelo, who cared so lovingly for Doug and his family. Please consider the charity or organization of your choice if you want to make a memorial in Doug’s name. Farewell, Doug, we know you are writing the story of all time now!
