Once again, as I get deeper into pain psychology/pain-related - TopicsExpress

Once again, as I get deeper into pain psychology/pain-related fear, I bump into tracks my wife helped lay down in 1991 regarding meaningful change!! In the references, it Jacobson and Truax. Nice paper here that Peter OSullivan got his hands in using a multidisciplinary approach in managing chronic LBP. Importantly from my perspective, they are combining not only mindfulness in a cognitive sense, but also incorporating movement training. Disappointingly, that movement instruction was not well described in the paper. I suspect that the addition of spine sparing movement training with daily tasks like squatting, lifting, lunging, sitting would have resulted in greater improvements in pain and function. This is what I have seen for years in clinic and teach in my course using the FixYourOwnBack model. Encouraging trend. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4120853/
