Once again we here a news report of a four year old girl being mauled and killed by a pitbull. First let me say I feel terrible about the fact that a child has loss her life, and I will be praying for the family as I fall asleep tonight. With that being said, once again the ONLY reason this is all over the news is because it was a pitbull. Recently a little boy had his face disfigured due to a bite from a lab. That wasnt anywhere on the news. We need to remember when reading or hearing this tragic story about the death of this little girl that when the report says Officer reports, blah blah that officer is ONLY reporting what he was told by the mother. Noone was in that house at the time of attack other than the child and the mother. So NOONE knows what REALLY happened. For all we know the mother could have been asleep and the child hitting the dog with a bat. The mother wouldnt report that to police because then she can be criminally charged. So please remember the police can only report what their being told, and the media is already prejudice against Pits so their going to make the story more intense. The people who sit here and say a pit will turn on you shows nothing but your ignorance. Its not in their blood to attack. It is all in the way they are raised. Pits have a more intense bite, therefore they do have potential to be more dangerous if they do bite, thats why ANYONE who owns a pit should know about the breed. But pitbulls are no different than owning a gun. A gun isnt dangerous UNTIL its in the wrong hands. Same as a pit. So in closing all I ask is please do the research on any story you hear or see in the news. And speak with intelligence when commenting about what happened to this little girl. There has been reports that the 6 month old other pit was a female in heat, and thats what made the male pit attack. Theres reports that he showed a few signs of having rabies. And theres reports that they were just watching tv and he attacked(unlikely). So before you show ignorance in judging something you know nothing about, do the research.
