Once in a while, if we are very luck or blessed, we have a moment of pure insight and wisdom. Some kind of great epiphany appears and we understand something that only a moment ago was unfathomable. It is as if he universe is speaking to us. Whenever Im out on Ford Lake in my kayak and I see some trash I try to pick it up. Most of the time its a plastic water bottle or a plastic bag or something. Last week I found a pool mattress that was tangled in some weeds. It was mostly full of water and I didnt have a knife to cut it, so I had to tow it behind me all the way back. I went out there this morning and saw a shape in the distance. When I came closer I saw that it was a bloated raccoon, long dead. I poked at it with me paddle and kept on going. A little while later I found a water bottle and picked it up. On my way back I saw a small white shape half floating in the water. As I got closer I saw that it was a plastic bag. maneuvered along side it and reached out to grab it. Just as my fingers started to touch it, the universe spoke to me and said: That is a bag of poo, let it go. I heeded the wisdom of the universe and quickly made my way back to the dock before I could be tempted by some other cruel twist of fate.
