Once upon a time in a 9th grade English class a cute little blond boy with a half smirk grin sat in the class. That year, his house burned down and he came back to school joking about it: one day I told him to quit playing with the broom and sit down and he looked at me and said but Mrs. Coghlan I dont even have a broom anymore why you gonna take this one away. After a couple of weeks I finally had to tell him that he couldnt use the excuse of it burned up in the fire for missing work anymore. Later that year we had a class celebration and I told them that every time I eat Doritos I choke. All of a sudden I actually started choking (like turning blue choking) everyone thought I was joking until I finally grabbed Tyler Kellys arm and shook it. Then, he pounded me on the back until the chip flew out of my mouth across the room. Then 2 years later I got to teach that same little blond boy and every time I would fuss at him about something he would remind me that you cant fuss at me remember that time I saved you from choking?! And I would just laugh right back at him and forget why I was fussing. I will miss seeing him in the hallway and reminding him to be good and he knew where I was when he needed me. I will never eat a Dorito without thinking of that sweet blonde boy. Rest well Tyler.
