Once upon a time,in a small suburb where I grew up...there lived so many beautiful families and so many children who played around all through the day and understood exactly what living in a neighbourhood meant. it was not just having neighbours,they were extended families.One wold choose to take lunch at their friends and they were catered gladly for because the mothers expected their children to have friends. Hide and seek was a communal game in which all homes were hiding places. Bathing and sleeping time for children also communally set..........Today,all I see are gates and fences and sound from cars and machines rather than the joyous laughter of young girls and boys playing and running around, will my children ever get to know what a neighbourhood stood for?? #randomthought #Teli_Akwenkana
