One interesting quote has generally been attributed to Sir Winston Churchill. I am not sure if Churchill said that; in any case, it is worth remembering it today, when the "political & social elite" is celebrating and the "ordinary citizens" are worrying about how to balance their budgets and survive in a highly-mismanaged political and economic system. Here is the quote that many resources on Internet attribute to Sir Winston Churchill: “Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues, freebooters; all Indian leaders will be of low caliber and men of straw. They will have sweet tongues and silly hearts. They will fight amongst themselves for power and India will be lost in political squabbles. A day would come when even air and water would be taxed in India."
