One man stands behind a pulpit armed with all the rhetoric of good - TopicsExpress

One man stands behind a pulpit armed with all the rhetoric of good and evil, damnation and nirvana, salvation and god-man sacrifice. He sets up the feelings and emotions with music and heavenly discourse. Then he warns of his gods wrath and his gods eternal retribution to those who do not follow what he thinks is his gods very words. The other man on that same day preaches of a different god, one that says the other god believer is a heretic, an infidel. They both say you can kill and be a martyr for their god and country. They each have a hell waiting for the other. They each have a heaven waiting for them. Their guns are the guns of dogmatism soaked in the pales of their holy books reeking of prejudice, exclusivity and discrimination. Has there ever been a point in history where those dogmas create best reasonable actions or deeds? Nay, for if the religious dogmatic prejudice, exclusivity and discrimination does not cease and mankind does not find the universal truths that effect each one of us on this spaceship we call earth, there is little hope of true world peace. - Michael Jeffery
