One more thought on the Noah hoopla...so much wasted energy over a movie that will be forgotten in a couple of weeks. If we followed the example of Jesus, our hearts would be so much with the broken, that all of the deck chair stuff would not matter. The issues of the day that get folks so pasisonate should pale in comparrison to our love for Jesus and our love for others. The only issue that deserves the kind of attention that has been given to a silly movie is this; the same finger tips that hung the stars, the same arms that stretched out willingly on the cross, the same voice that said in Johns Gospel Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?...I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more is yearning for your heart today, right now, no matter where and who you are. All of your hurts, wounds, concealed shame- Jesus knows. He feels it in His heart and knows it better than you do. He does not judge- He loves you right there. Not in spite of it all, but with it all. Every moment, every second of the day, He is there. With you, for you and ready to be the greatest lover you have every known. Hes knocking...all you need to do is open the door. To me...that is the message. It gets lost in the cloud of nonsense that passes for standing up for beliefs. How about we do a little less standing up and a little more listening to what hurts people, more being with the broken and more honestly caring for people because we care about Jesus? When we get to the end of our days...will we really care where we stood on the issues, or will we wish we loved more people and allowed them to see Jesus in and thorugh our own brokeness?
