One night (the first of two) Buddy performed at a small night club in Lyndhurst, New Jersey where the stage was behind the bar (weve all played them) which prevented the band from being set up in 3 tiers to Buddys left Instead the saxes were to his right and the brass to his left. Anyway the one and only time I heard a TRAIN WRECK from Buddys band was playing this chart most likely because the setup was strange to them and they could not hear each other that well. (It was at the entrance after his drum solo........TALK ABOUT BEING PISSED OFF. The next night there was plywood across the bar and the saxes were set up in front of the brass to Bs left. I arrived early only to find Buddy outside the club slumped over a U.S. mail box all alone. It was one of the few times I had a pleasant conversation with the prick. I never talked shop with him anyway except early on to remind him I played drums was a fan and the video tape I eventually gave him of my band that he played on the bus. This kid has my shit down.
