One of my daughters wrote this touching tribute about her memories of Election Day that I will treasure always: “Since I can remember, Election Day has been the most important day of the year for my family. This day brought a mix of emotions: excitement, anxiety, relief, and maybe a little fear of the unknown. Today will determine the direction of our great country. My family has always rallied together to support someone who will always have a strong voice, titanium spine, and 4 inch heels. My mother has inspired me to stand when there is nothing but faith to catch you. My hero has made a brighter future for my generation. My role model has stood for the sanctity of marriage, family, and education - her voice has impacted more families than she will ever know. Thank you for your service mom. You have made these past 14 years of being an elected servant to your state and country the most memorable and exhilarating time of my life. I am so honored and incredibly blessed to be your daughter. Please exercise your right to vote today, and pray for the leaders of this country.”
