One of my favorite people to visit with ever since Ive been going to the VA is Al - a Pearl Harbor Survivor, and volunteer at the Information desk at the VA in La Jolla. When I was at the VA on Monday, I heard that Al had fallen ill. I was very lucky to be able to visit with him for just a few minutes. Today I heard that Al passed away late Monday night. This makes Mom and I sad. He was a very nice man with a wonderful, warm, welcoming smile. He will be missed by a lot of people. Al was 94 years young. :(
