One of my heroes. Lucille didnt just create a space for women to be funny, she was one of the most talented and hard working comedians of all time. She was sharp, hilarious, she started the most successful television production companies in the history of tv, in spite of her dead beat husband whom she later left. Did she help women by being a complete badass and happening to be a woman and fighting that adversity and accomplishing so much? Yes. Does she deserved to be remembered as a funny woman when women werent allowed to be funny? Maybe. But she also deserves credit for accomplishing all she did without putting her in a gender class. Male, female, or other, very few people have accomplished what she did.
