One of my top five weirdest days... Today, I was tired and cranky, so I took a short nap - only to fall so deeply into sleep that I kept waking up, and waking up, and waking up... and it was worse each time, because I wasnt awake and could NOT get there. I got up and stumbled around, calling for Valerie to please come help me.... and after I woke up I WOKE UP AGAIN. Crying, calling for her to PLEASE HELP. I was so deep (it was kind of like Inception - layer after layer of dreams downward). The last time I was finally awake, but it took me ten minutes to be even semi-coherent. Fortunately, this happens only about every five years or so... Valerie brought me ice water, rubbed my arms and shoulders, and helped me wake up. I felt like I was dreaming for days... she says I was asleep about ten to fifteen minutes. I believe her, because I know I said something to her just before I fell deeply into sleep. So I figured.... now that Im up, Ill go for a walk so I can REALLY fully wake myself up and get moving. *Groan* Got to the little lake near her house, where people go for sunsets, and kids play, and I photograph butterflies.... good thing I was looking down at the ground for butterflies because there was a big hole in the ground, mostly covered by the grass (and like a bear trap, there was sod that had fallen partway in, obscuring the hole). 4 ft by 3 ft. by about 2 1/2 deep at least. Sat for 3 /12 hours, calling people through rain, heat, humidity and so on and nobody showed up. Nobody wanted to claim that patch of land, or fix the holes (I found a second one nearby). Finally, just at sunset, the county guy came to put up barricades, and I almost hugged him. And then right after, a police car came to check (I called EVERYONE). The guy from the county said thank you and gave me his card. Said if I ever saw something like that again, to call him directly. Great guy. While I was out, I saw a rainbow and a beautiful sunset, and then I finally called Valerie to come get me because I could barely walk.... So heres a sunset from tonight for you, and one with a small patch of rainbow. And now Im going to forget this day ever happened. :) More photos in a bit.
