One of the biggest frustrations I have as I look at my generation - TopicsExpress

One of the biggest frustrations I have as I look at my generation is our attitude toward volunteering. If you look at civic clubs and fraternal Orginizations their membership numbers are in steep decline. This is maddening because our generation is also the first to comment on what is needed and how it isnt done right. Everyone wants events but no one wants to work. I look at things like the Kootenai River Ride, the Kootenai River Run, the Swish Tournament, Kootenai River Days and more and I cant help but think how they could use more volunteers. I try. I promise that I am practicing what I preach here. I coach little kids, serve on the school board, call games on the radio, serve as a course monitor, MC events, volunteer in my childrens classroom and more. I admit though that even with all of that I still feel I miss some chances to help due to a lack of time. It is a delicate balance when it comes to family and community. Anyway. I will quit ranting. Thank You to all that volunteer!
