One of the most basic yet elusive truths in life is this: You always see what you want to see and you will always find what you are looking for. Imagine I were to send you into my office and give you one minute to find everything that is red. Sure enough, when you would come out you’d be ready to tell me about a red piece of fabric, the red lettering on a poster, the red cover of a book, a red marker, and a whole bunch of other red things that caught your eye. But what would happen if you were to come out, with your mind so focused on remembering everything red, and I asked you to tell me everything in the room that was green. You’d be stumped. You probably wouldnt have even seen many green things— and you would remember even fewer—because your focus had been so exclusively on things that were red. That’s just how our minds work. There is so much information that we are bombarded with every second of every day. The only way for our minds to operate is to delete anything that isnt relevant or important at that moment. With your marriage it is the same. You will only see what you are looking for.Falling in love is the easy part. Staying in love takes work. Take this into consideration going into the New Year! Lets be thankful that we are still alive and are given another chance at loving our spouses. Practice seeing the GOOD in your Husbands or Wives and ignore the BAD. Im not saying that when your spouse isnt leading or loving you well, ignore it. I am saying lets just focus on the positive for now and leave the rest for Gods work for now. xoxoxoxox
