One of the most laughably ironic arguments used by climate denialists is that somehow, thousands of climate scientists around the world, doing peer-reviewed research at respected institutes in most of the countries in the world (even countries that are at war with each other), have somehow managed to concoct a vast conspiracy of man-made climate change... in order to make money! I mean, climate denial is funded by one of the most profitable industries in the world (the fossil fuel industry),and by some of the richest people in the world, like the Koch brothers. These people have a clear profit motive in funding climate denial. Meanwhile, no-one is getting rich off of being a scientist. So, the Koch brothers, worth billions of dollars, are accusing people who are lucky to make 6 figures, of telling lies to make money. Yes, somebody is telling lies to make money here; somebody has concocted a conspiracy in order to make money, but its not the climate scientists who are doing it.
